The Story Behind my Traveling to Europe

August. Busy time for my activities. As a student that lived in the village, it should be rather strange even if your village has important event at night but you have a class in the morning. Especially if you live in java culture, so many events from your neighbour will invite you. This story began on April. There was the day when I enjoyed the student atmosphere.

I enrolled as a master student in crop estate technology faculty agriculture technology Gadjah Mada University. I have entered the second semester in there. Therefore there was time for preparing thesis plan. As interesting as I study, I would like to study essential oil more. So I visited Prof. Hardjono Sastro Hamidjojo, my lecturer in bachelor last time. He is someone expert in the essential oil. I want to learn synthesis from compounds of citronella oil, to make synthesised compounds that be a higher value to sell.

Yes, I have got permission from him. But, unfortunately, the project required be paid by myself. I imagined it might be so expensive. And then where was the money comes from?

My Feeling about Chalmers and Sweden

My name is Ahmad Safarudin. I am a master student at Crop Estate Technology Faculty Agriculture Technology,Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia. I enrolled as an exchange student in Autumn 2015 period doing my thesis work on biotechnology projects. I really interest in developing the waste materials to renewable energy. Then, it was that I have done the research in Chalmers, made biogas from waste.

I worked my lab work at the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Chalmers through Linnaeus Palme program. I did the lab work about developing lignocelluloses waste to produce biogas. I don’t take the wrong option choosing Chalmers as the place to work my thesis. The place was a comfortable area for doing my lab work. I have the very kind supervisor and people in this department was so friendly. It is easy to obtain chemicals and use lab instruments who I can not get in Indonesia as easy as in Chalmers. The department provided me superb facilities that I need to do my thesis work.

Snow in Goteborg

Gothenburg, Here I lived since the last September. And then, winter is coming. The night is longer than the day. I am surprised today at the morning. Beautiful snow fell down dusting my face. Dainty sensation, still -2 degree of celsius.

Perasaan

Perasaan adalah makhluk rumit yang berada dalam jiwa yang kelaparan oleh penantian. Mungkin kita tidak memerlukan perasaan. Dari perasaan yang terhubung ke perasaan lainnya jiwa-jiwa merasakan sakit, tersesat. Terperosok kedalam lantunan fatamorgana. Seakan perasaan berkata kepada perasaan yang lainnya,” Ahirnya aku menemukanmu wahai cahaya, keindahan yang sejati.” Namun ternyata, perasaan menyulutkan api-api keinginan, api-api ke-egoan. Hingga api tumbuh besar dan besar. Ahirnya ego bertahta, menyingkirkan kepasrahan dalam lubuk jiwa.
